The Doors of Faith (2022)

Maxwell Institute/Deseret Book

We sometimes think of faith as a set of propositions: “Joseph Smith was a prophet;” “the Book of Mormon is true;” “the Church is true.” While these affirmations can be powerful, faith is primarily a relationship with God, formed in response to our experiences with the divine. Although we do not need to believe in God's existence with absolute certainty, there must be some rational basis of belief in God in order to give us the trust to submit ourselves to the demands of discipleship and forge that relationship of faith. That basis, in light of Restoration teachings, is the subject of this book.
